Buy them both They both are great games with alot to offer, lets not get the old debate going again,I am a huge fan of both games, having logged hundreds if not thousands of hours in the two,you really cant go wrong with either of the games,Ive played gw since the month after release and played wow for 9 months, both extraordinary and fun games

---------------------------- one last question: Q: what is the highest level you can reach in GuildWars? ---------------------------- Last edited by TreeHugginHippy; Mar 26, 2006 at 11:47 AM // 11:47.. |

Hes playing fanboy for wow, which isnt a bad thing, its a great game, but the two games in question were not meant to be compared, wow is a game for the hard core pve grinder where for the most part gear is greater than skill,i'll use my favorite classes as examples,
The WoW Hunter class- lets say we have 100 hunters lined up,they will all use a certain few skills in battle, and the talent trees will be the main variety in the skills used(ie:improved versions of certain skills) Now,all these hunters may pretty much use the same skill line up,but they may all have different gear, which will determine the overall effectivness of thier skills and weapons The GW Ranger-Lets say we have 100 rangers lined up,they all will pretty much have the same gear, its the 8 skills(the build) they are using and how they use it that will determine thier effectivness The clear difference I have come to see is that with gw,you have 150+? skills that you can choose from to use and you know this is what will win or lose the battle for you,in wow you know that all those hunters are using basicaly the same skills and it is thier gear that determines the outcome for the most part, dont get me wrong it takes a good bit of coordination to be good at either game, but in gw it doesnt take weeks of grinding for gear to be able to compete at the top levels,it takes weeks or months of learning your skills to do so I hope I have been of some help to you Edit, the highest level in gw is 20 Last edited by Calrisian Nantos; Mar 26, 2006 at 11:57 AM // 11:57.. |

since there is no uber stat armor and no ultra stat one hit kill anything weapons and the level cap is locked at 20 (reach it in 20-30 hours) you have to use that wonderful ability to essentially reloll your character . my ele/monk can be a pyromancer today and with that huge energy pool from the ele primary can do a wonderful job tomorrow of being a healing monk or a smiter of the undead. also there wont be a level 40 player coming along and automatically killing me simply because he/she plays 15 hours a day and i cant. |
